Color Therapy

Happy Friday everyone!! It's been a long week... and that was before it snowed yesterday. Not to mention it's supposed to snow today and tomorrow too. Needless to say it's been a bit gloomy here. So I thought what better to do then to showcase some bright and beautiful designs from Etsy. A little color therapy is what I need and some warm sunshine. As I get closer and closer to summer I'm left with a quit hefty desire to be drenched in warm bright colors, so here are some of my favorites I hope you enjoy.

Ahhhhh... I think it's finally getting warm in here

Vintage Inspiration

So the other day I went to a local antique shop called Granny's Attic, it's this huge old building almost a block long filled to the brim with treasures and curiosities. I can spend hours and hours in there and still not see everything. I was hoping to find some inspiration to redecorate my apartment, and I got a few ideas. But it's hard when you really aren't aloud to change anything like paint or a orange and  brown 70's  carpet that, lets face doesn't go with much. Oh well at least I got a start and some great photos. Here are some of the highlights. It seems though no matter what I do with my apartment it's never going to be what I really want... a place of my own. Anyway on to inspiration!

I keep telling myself that one day I'll have a home of my very own and I can do with it what I want. Well I guess until then I'll just have to make do with my 70's carpet and white walls.

Till next time...

Feature Friday!

One of the best parts about spring and summer is the shedding of ones clothes... both literally and figuratively. spring is a symbol of renewal and new beginnings. In summer we bath in the light and warmth of the sun; and become stronger for it. It's all about being new and being you.

Spring and summer is an excellent time to show off new fashions; I myself am a newcomer to the fashion world and for the first time in my life I'm looking forward to finding new ways of expressing myself through art and of course fashion. I've always gone for the comfortable look, not necessarily by choice but rather a lack of self confidence. While perusing the many incredible artists on Etsy I've been overwhelmed by the talent and the creativity that these artist share. I have an ever growing wish list of wants and I wanted to share them with all of you. I decided to create Feature Fridays where I can share some of the wonderful artists on Etsy.

So without further adieu my first Feature Friday: I have always been a fan of the all to comfortable T-shirt, now some may say that a regular t-shirt isn't fashion forward but I beg to differ. The following artists prove that you don't have to sacrifice comfortable for fashion. If I could I'd have closet full of these wonderful tees I would and hopefully one day I will. There unique, fun, and exciting, but don't take my word for it take a look for yourself.

Around The Bend

Sun is warm
Water cold
Wind blows
Trees that sway
The river runs
And I will play

Come and see
Around the bend all feathered hearts and souls that sing
Angel whispers and sinners call
Round and round and nobody falls
Sing again that song so sweet, sing it softly at my feet

Sun is warm
Water cold
Wind blows
Trees that sway
The river runs
And I will play

Oh spring thank goodness your hear! Finally the sun is out and I now feel that I can be productive. So seeing how it's been about a month since I updated my Etsy shop and because I'm a smart cookie I took a few days off from my day job I figured I put that time to good use. So here's my latest, it's a wire wrapped crystal pendant. Perfect for spring and summer.

As for the rest of my day I think I'm going to bike to one of the local used book stores and get started on some summer reading and maybe do some laps at YMCA. Can't forget to workout even if I am on vacation.

Till next time...

Dog Days are Over....

Finding new music is like when your little and you go digging in the dirt, and amist the grass stains and muddy dirt under your finger nails you find a pretty rock and even though other people may only see it as just another rock to you it's treasure. That's how I feel about discovering new music, sometimes you have to wade through a bunch of dirt to get to the good stuff. Granted I'm not the only one who finds this band a treasure, but none the less I've very happy I found them. I stumbled apon Florence and The Machine a few months ago and all I can say is it's just great, listen for yourself.

Riverfront Park

This past weekend my boyfriend and I decided to check out another park. Riverfront Park is located just south of Billings and is full of discovery. Great for joggers, bikers, fellow wanderers, and people who don't mind going of the trail. We wanted to explore the many trails in the undeveloped natural areas. Which meant that we sorta kinda of got lost but we found our way. It wasn't perfect weather but we managed and it's still a bit dreary but we could see hints of the new life coming through everywhere.

This was at the beginning of our walk I can't wait until these trees sprout new life.

Ooooo ... I wonder where this will lead?

This reminded me of the fork in the road; it's amazing what force winter has on even the strongest trees.

What's this, could it be,  finally signs of spring????

Do you know that feeling when you see something out of the corner of your eye and for a moment you're afraid to look. Well that happened to me; all of a sudden there it was, it looked to be an archway to some fantastical place maybe into a Brother's Grimm fairy tale. It was just perfect; it took every ounce of me not to crawl right in. It actually reminded me of one of my favorite movies Pan's Labyrinth.

I hope I can find this spot again when it's lush and green it would be a real treat to see the difference.

Here's a close up.

All in all it was a pretty good weekend, I got taken out a date from my sweetie, I caught up with an old friend and went on a little adventure. Hopefully this week will go by fast and I can have another great weekend.

Till next time.

Window Shopping Wednesday

So I know I haven't posted lately, I'm still getting use to the whole social networking thing. Anyway one of my big goals this year is to become debt free and I have it worked out that I'll reach this goal by the end of the year. Which means that I'm on a very strict budget; so what does one do on such a budget... window shop one of the greatest past times. The other day I came across this coat and I feel in love. I love trench coats and this ones awesome!!

Well that's it for now.

Till next time... Happy window shopping.
