Happy 4th of July!

Hey everyone, hope you're all having a great 4th! Me and Chris are just kicking back and relaxing.

Were not going to go see the fireworks tonight, so we celebrated America's Birthday with a very patriotic breakfast, red, white and blueberry waffles with some grapes thrown in for fun. What did you do to celebrate to 4th?

I also took some pictures this morning...

I guess you could say these are my after pictures. After meaning: losing 107 pounds. I haven't posted any of the before pictures yet but I will once I steal some from my parents computer. I'm thinking next time we go over to my parents place, so don't forget to remind me Mom.

And here's the guy who supported me all along the way and always thought I was beautiful, and never stopped reminding me. Even when I sometimes forgot. Love ya sweetie!

Top five moments of the day
  1. Waking up with the man I love.
  2. Yummy breakfast.
  3. Driving with the windows rolled down.
  4. Finished reading a book.
  5. Spending time with my parents and introducing them to the wonderful world of gelato.
  6. Ok I know I said my top five but technically the days not over with. So as the sun is taking it's bow and the city turns quiet in anticipation for tonight's show I'm reminded that life is pretty good.

Mary and Max

Hi everyone, it's Thursday one day closer to Friday Whoohoooo!!! I just wanted to share with you a new movie that I just watched and loved. Mary and Max is a claymation movie about to very different pen pals. Directed by Adam Elliot, the same man who wrote and directed Harvie Krumpet the Oscar winning short film. Now I wouldn't suggest showing this to the little ones, it's more for adult or young teen enjoyment. So go check it out!

Till next time...

New direction

So I've been struggling lately with what I wanted this blog to be. At first I thought I would chronicle some of my little adventures here and there and my life in general. Don't get me wrong I still want to but I found that I was getting frustrated with myself and where my life is at. I feel that my life is a bit lackluster and on hold. I know that may sound harsh and I shouldn't say that about myself but it's true, it's how I feel. Yes, I'm on my way to completing a huge goal of mine which is to become debt free but, since every extra ounce of money is going towards that I'm left with little to no money to play around with. It's of my own doing, I know this but, I rather wait out the next few months board out of my mind then have to spend another year worrying about debt.

Still... it's been hard really hard and my blog and art have taken to the back burner.  So I've decided to try to get back on track, and open myself up to different possibilities, first off I'm going to take this here blog and turn it in a slightly different direction or I guess I should say a few more directions. I'm still going to put up all the little adventures I have but I'm also going to let this be a place where I can store and catalog all the different inspirations I gather along the way. From fashion, home decor, food, music to photography, art, travel, reading and anything else I discover along the way. I guess what I'm trying to say is you'll be seeing a lot more of me in the weeks and months to come. Here's to brighter skies ahead.

Thank you all for sticking by me!!

Mini Adventures

You may not believe this but I am trying to get better about posting. Lately I've been uninspired and tired. I should be pleased at how green everything is getting but the back and forth between cold, not so cold, rainy, and then sunny is making me wish old mother nature would make up her mind on whether it's spring or summer. However, Chris and I did fit in a couple adventures between the thunderstorms, which were lovely and made up for indecisive nature.

Oh and I guess I should do another introduction. Chris is my boyfriend, and we've been together for a little over eight years. Crazy how time flies. He's funny, sweet, strong, he's my rock, one of my best friends, and what can I say he's my guy! And I love my guy!

It must have been a few weeks ago that we went up to Red Lodge for a hike, but I don't remember for sure. By the way I have terrible memory and don't retain much beyond a few days let alone a few weeks but I'm working on that. So dates and names, I don't do so well with.

Anyway from what I do remember, it was sunny and beautiful the air was crisp and the remnants of winter still stood their ground. The hike was great there was no one for miles and miles we had it all to ourselves. It was a good day!

Ahhh... the happy couple! I just realized he's not smiling in any of these well I'll change that.

There we go... That's the smile I love!

Ok, so if Red Lodge was a few weeks ago then the cave was two weeks ago?? Yep two weeks ago! So we went and saw the pictograph cave that was right out side of Billings. It was really fascinating to see. There's over 106 pictographs throughout the cave, although some have worn away over time. Archaeologists also found stone and bone tools, pottery shards, and other artifacts dating around 3000 b.c to 500 a.d. Amazing, I love history and standing in place where people once stood thousands of years ago was really a mind opener.

Well that's all that I got for now, with the anticipated warm weather approching hopefully I'll get my stride back and I'll find inspiration in all sorts of places.

Till next time...

Happy cat, flowers, chips and salsa...

Sorry I haven't posted in awhile, I've been pretty busy and running on empty. I'm going to try to be better about posting, so here it goes. This past Saturday I got together with my best friend and we just had a day. The weather was perfect and it finally felt like spring. Our first adventure: off to our favorite greenhouse in town, and yes I have forgotten the name. It was perfect! Every time I go I insantly feel better, how can you not.

It's a good thing all I have is a stoop and not even a stoop, I have landing that barely fits two people. So alas I can not garden or try to have a green thumb. But it's good I would have spent way too much money that I don't have.

Ahhhhhh.... I could go there every weekend and never get board. Well after we had a marvelous expedition we decided it was fitting to grab some local chips and salsa and settle in for a movie at her house. So we did just that. We ate, we talked and laughed, we watched Precious (and yes it may have seemed a somewhat of an odd choice of movie for such a lovely spring day but we both love good movies and this one was great, everyone should go and watch it), However I must introduce you to someone very special. Now my friend has this cat and she's not your ordinary cat, and I know people say that all the time about their feline friends but I really do mean that this cat is pretty much a person just with 4 legs, fur and a minor language barrier.

Her name Isadora, prerogative: eating, sleeping, demanding all attention, being mischievous, and knowing what's up. Needless to say she's one happy cat.

She's the bees knees if you ask me and she never lets you forget it. You can have whole conversations with her even though they're slightly one sided. She's a bit of a diva and definatly a Mama's girl, and she knows how to play it cool.

Peekaboo I see you! She was in her box when I took this, just moments before she was whirling her paws of fury through this hole trying to get at my camera. I think she figured out what I was doing and decided to give my her I'm in serious thought pose. Well done! All in all a great Saturday!!

Anyway that's it for now.

Till next time...

Timing

The right time, the perfect time, the only time, forgotten time... How do we judge our lives accordingly? I find myself constantly asking the question when. When will I reach my goal, when will I have enough money, when will I find time to be alone and create. I often feel my life is stalled, as if I'm wadding in the ocean but the tide never washes me away. I want to be consumed, I want to be bombarded with life, instead I'm stuck between the old me and the new me. Held back partly of my own doing and of circumstances, insecurities, money, responsibility, and time.

My goal one day is to be my own boss, to create and be inspired everyday, to set my own time, and to live the life I want. Everyday I take a step closer, inching my way to my dreams. It helps to remind myself of all I've accomplished and how close I am to my goals, but sometimes when your stuck at your 8-5 Mon-Fri day job and all you want to do is be creative no amount of  reminders can help. One of my biggest problems comes about at said day job, all of a sudden I'll have some creative inspiration for a new painting or drawing or piece of jewelry but there's nothing I can do about it. By the time I get home there's a million other things to do and all of my creative energy has flown out the window. How inconvenient my creativity is when I don't have time on my side. So you will know how delighted I was the other weekend when I had a spark of inspiration and I had time to put it to some use. The end result relief... Ahhhhhh finally creative satisfaction. The following drawing was created using charcoal, pen and marker on canvas.

the next few are close ups.

Well I guess it's time for me to go, till next time....

Color Therapy

Happy Friday everyone!! It's been a long week... and that was before it snowed yesterday. Not to mention it's supposed to snow today and tomorrow too. Needless to say it's been a bit gloomy here. So I thought what better to do then to showcase some bright and beautiful designs from Etsy. A little color therapy is what I need and some warm sunshine. As I get closer and closer to summer I'm left with a quit hefty desire to be drenched in warm bright colors, so here are some of my favorites I hope you enjoy.

Ahhhhh... I think it's finally getting warm in here
